What is the difference between Ozempic and Semaglutide?

Ozempic is the brand name for the molecule Semaglutide.

Until the end of 2020, Ozempic weekly injection was the only form of Semaglutide available. Since then the manufacturers, Novo Nordisk, have also launched a daily Semaglutide tablet, called Rybelsus.

Wegovy, which is the higher strength 2.4mg Semaglutide is expected to be launch soon which is licensed for weight loss.
